Upgrade Policy

Direct Sales Version

When you purchase a game directly from us via our online Web Store(Direct Sales Version), you will also receive:

  • Free updates for minor-version changes (for example, ver. 4.0 through 4.9).

You can use your Key-Code without charge for free updates and minor changes. To update your program, download the patch from our support page(if applicable) or download the latest version of the game from our Downloads page.

Licensed Version

Q: Why doesn't the serial number from my package work with the new version I downloaded?
Q: Are free upgrades available for my package?

A.: We regret that free updates are not available for licensed versions of our games purchased from other companies. We apologize for this inconvenience.

For the JINNI ZEALA licensed version, please contact your publisher for user support.

For TRISTAN, Crystal Caliburn, and Loony Labyrinth licensed versions, we are offering the new versions at special low prices. Owners of such versions may find this a reasonable "upgrade" opportunity.

Q: What's the difference between a Direct Sales Version and a Licensed Version?

A.: Over the years, LittleWing has designed games for licensing to other publishers. As part of their licensing, these publishers designed and manufactured the media (CDs) and packaging, marketed and sold the products, and provided customer support. LittleWing provided the original game programs only, and did not receive additional revenue from retail sales.

As the original copyright owner, we continue to sell and update our own versions of some of these "legacy" games. Unfortunately, because we did not manufacture or sell the original licensed products, we cannot absorb the cost of providing upgrades or support to people who purchased them. Also, because we have no records of individual sales of licensed products, we cannot verify their ownership.

Therefore, if you did not buy your game directly from us, we regret that we cannot provide the services offered by the product's original publisher. We appreciate your understanding.

Your prices are shown in Japanese Yen, but I don't live in Japan. Can I still use my credit card to order?

A.: Of course. your credit card company will automatically charge your card for the equivalent amount in your currency, according to their exchange rate.

How much is the price in my currency?

A.: Because exchange rates fluctuate, we cannot include current prices in other currencies. The price for one license of MONSTER FAIR is 2,980 Japanese Yen. When this page is written, this equaled between US$26.00 and US$28.50. For a guide to current exchange rates, visit the Yahoo Currency Calculator. Please note that your actual exchange rate is determined by your credit card company.

Can I order my game on CD?

A.: Our games are currently available only by direct download from our Web Store. We are sorry if it causes you any inconvenience.

May I transfer my licence from Windows to Macintosh, or vice versa?

A.: The Macintosh and the Windows versions of our games are independent products which are developed separately. Therefore, license transfers between them are not available. We appreciate your understanding.

Technical Questions

Game screen is not displayed properly when launching Monster Fair on my Intel Mac.

A: The problem is solved by updating MacOS X to 10.4.5 or later as Apple solved the compatibility problems in MacOS X10.4.5.

Please note If your Monster Fair is version 1.2.1, it does not work with MacOS X 10.4.5 properly as 1.2.1 was specially created to avoid the compatibility problems of older versions of MacOS X. Please download Monster Fair ver.1.2.2 to run under MacOS X10.4.5.

Games do not launch after updating QuickTime to version 7 with MacOSX 10.3.9.

A: It is known QuickTime7 causes sound problems with certain machine models and audio software/hardware. To solve this problem, replace QuickTime 7 with QuickTime 6.5.2, using this installer from the Apple website:

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime652reinstallerformac.html This installer works only with MacOSX 10.3.9.

Note: There seems to be no compatibility problem between QuickTime7 and MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger).

Game does not accept Key-code

A: This problem is usually caused when the file containing the game's Key-Code is corrupted. When you launch a LittleWing game for the first time, it creates a file in your preferences folder to record your activation Key-Code and high score information:

Game Filename
Monster Fair com.littlewingpinball.monsterfair.plist
Jinni Zeala com.littlewingpinball.jinnizeala.plist (MacOS9: JINNI ZEALA [version number].plist)
Golden Logres Golden Logres [version number] Registration
Angel Egg Angel Egg [version number] Registration
Loony Labyrinth com.littlewingpinball.loonylabyrinth.plist
Crystal Caliburn com.littlewingpinball.crystalcaliburn.plist

To protect your information, this file remains on your hard drive when you uninstall the game. Therefore, reinstalling the program does not solve the problem as the file is not rewritten. You must delete it manually. After you delete the file, you should be prompted for your Key-Code the next time you run the game.

Note: Serial numbers from licensed products (purchased from other distributors) do not work with products purchased from our online Web Store. See our upgrade policy for details.

Why do I get an error when I run the game?

What causes a Stuffit Expansion / Disk Mount error message when I try to decompress the downloaded file?

A: This usually means your file did not download properly.

This can be caused by browser bugs, problems downloading large files, and other things beyond our control. Try downloading the file again, or downloading it on another system. See if the download finished successfully by comparing the size of your downloaded file with the filesize shown next to the game's download link.

The correct file sizes are:

  • CRYSTAL_CALIBURN_301.smi.sit should be 1,426,587bytes
  • CRYSTAL_CALIBURN_301.smi should be 2,788,091bytes
  • LOONY_LABYRINTH_301.smi.sit should be 2,585,645bytes
  • LOONY_LABYRINTH_301.smi should be 5,039,355 bytes
  • aem_122_ie.sit should be 22,980,796 bytes
  • glm_105_ie.sea should be 14,808,772 bytes

If you cannot solve the problem by redownloading the file, please contact Customer Support.

Copy failure of Crystal Caliburn (Loony Labyrinth, JINNI ZEALA) (Macintosh)

It is possible that the CRYSTAL CALIBURN program has not been copied to your hard disk properly.

To avoid the problem, copy the program to the Application folder, then check if CRYSTAL CALIBURN 3.0.1 and CC Data are placed as follows.

Macintosh HD->Application->CRYSTAL CALIBURN Pinball->CRYSTAL CALIBURN 3.0.1
Macintosh HD->Application->CRYSTAL CALIBURN Pinball->CC Data

CRYSTAL CALIBURN 3.0.1 should be copied as an application and CC Data should be copied as a folder. There should be effect.bin which is 581,632 bytes in CC Data folder.

LOONY LABYRINTH

Macintosh HD->Application->LOONY LABYRINTH Pinball->LOONY LABYRINTH 3.0.1
Macintosh HD->Application->LOONY LABYRINTH Pinball->LL Data

LOONY LABYRINTH 3.0.1 should be copied as an application and LL Data should be copied as a folder. There should be effect.bin which is 581,632 bytes in LL Data folder.

JINNI ZEALA

Macintosh HD->Application->JINNI ZEALA Pinball->JINNI ZEALA 1.2.2
Macintosh HD->Application->JINNI ZEALA Pinball->Zeala Data

JINNI ZEALA 1.2.2 should be copied as an application and Zeala Data should be copied as a folder. There should be 17 data files in Zeala Data folder.

Kernel panic (MAC)

If your system stops with a message that says "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button.", the system is in "kernel panic". For an explanation of this error, see:

What's a "kernel panic"? (Mac OS X) http://docs.info.apple.com/article2.html?artnum=106227

There are three possible reasons the error may occur when running a LittleWing game:

  • Incorrect permission in disks in MacOSX. In this case, it can be solved by launching Application -> Utilities -> Disk Utility, selecting hard drive at the left side, then pressing the "Repair Disk Permissions" button on the First Aid tab at the right.
  • One or more broken Mac OSX system files. In this case, you must reinstall MacOSX to solve the problem.
  • A connected iPod or other portable device may cause this problem. We recommend that you disconnect such devices before playing games.

Crystal Caliburn (Loony Labyrinth) stacks in demo mode (MAC/WIN)

Try pressing ESC after launching a game and see if the game menu is displayed. If it is, the game should run correctly. However, if there is an error message, please contact Customer Support.

Short cut keys used in previous version of Crystal Caliburn (Loony Labyrinth) do not work (MAC/WIN)

New versions of CC & LL no longer use shortcut keys; menus are used for all operations. To see the game menus, press ESC key after launching the game. To use a menu, press the up/down arrow keys to select a command, then press Enter (or Return). For more details, see the readme.html file that comes with the program.

Game is slow in MacOSX classic mode (Macintosh)

In MacOSX Classic mode, game speed can be slower because MacOSX itself needs much more CPU power than previous MacOS versions. If you experience speed problems with Golden Logres or Angel Egg, we recommend that you reboot with MacOS9 if it is available on your system. Booting with MacOS9 is possible if you see a MacOS9 icon in System Preferences->Startup Disk.

Crystal Caliburn (Loony Labyrinth) runs under classic mode only (Macintosh)

As of version 3.0.1, Crystal Caliburn and Loony Labyrinth have been updated to be MacOSX-native products. You can avoid running them in Classic mode by switching them to MacOSX-native mode:

  1. In the Finder, check the name of the game’s icon to be sure you have version 3.0.1 or greater (e.g. "CRYSTAL CALIBURN 3.0.1" or "LOONY LABYRINTH 3.0.1").
  2. Click the icon to select it; then, on the File menu, click Get Info.
  3. In the window that appears, clear the checkbox that says "Open in Classic environment".

Golden Logres Macintosh version 1.0.5, Game exits abruptly (Macintosh)

I just finished the Fandango multiball, and after the bonus was added to my score, I got this error:

"Operating System Error: The logical end-of-file was reached while reading. ID = -39, eofErr, 52"

The game then exited and did not restore my monitor resolution.

I downloaded Golden Logres to my Mac. When I play the game, sound quality is poor and there are strange clicking sounds.

A: Both problems may be caused by StuffIt Expander.

StuffIt Expander has a function called Cross Platform, which automatically converts non-Macintosh text files to Macintosh format without notice. We have discovered that StuffIt Expander mistakes one of the Golden Logres program files for a TEXT file and modifies it, causing this problem.

To avoid this, try the following before you start your download. Or, if you have already completed your download, expand the file again with these settings:

Double-click StuffIt Expander. On the File menu, choose Preferences. Click the Cross Platform icon, click Never, then click OK. Expand "glm_105_ie.sit"
